Full bodied, complex and well integrated nose with layers of citrus, pear, toasted almond and some biscuity notes plus a hint of spice from the oak.

The concentration and balance of the wine suggest that careful cellaring will be rewarded.

Winemaking notes

The fruit for this wine was sourced entirely from the winery block vineyard in Brightwater, Nelson. It is made from hand-picked Pinot Blanc harvested on 1 April 2014 at 22.8ºBrix.
The grapes were whole bunch pressed, allowed to settle and the juice transferred to barrels for fermentation.
After barrel fermentation was complete, the wine was aged on gross lees in barrel for 12 months. The blended wine was then filtered and bottled on 20 October 2015.
