Prestigious recognition for our gracious semillon

KE_semillon-wide

Our last ever Semillon – the 2009 – has just been awarded 5 stars in Winestate Magazine’s Semillon and Blends Tasting in Australia.

Oz excels at making serious example of this varietal; so we are delighted with this assessment as our wine was the oldest wine in its class in the tasting and also the sole Kiwi wine!

Most often blended with Sauvignon Blanc, 100% Semillon is an under-appreciated varietal. As it ages it can be more like chardonnay. Why not try it matched with seared salmon in a creamy sauce or seafood risotto – although rich, aged Semillon retains its acidity.
