2005 Kaimira Estate Brightwater Riesling
WINE DETAILS
The Riesling is hand picked. The grapes were mainly crushed and destemmed, with approximately 25% whole bunch pressed. Juice oxidation was carefully avoided and the clarified juice was cool fermented in stainless steel to retain primary fruit character.
Post-fermentation lees influence was minimal to preserve fruitiness and there was no oak contact or malolactic fermentation.
TASTING NOTES
Intense florals and lime on the nose, clean fresh grapefruity character all set against a strong mineral backbone.
Palate has good flavour intensity, very limey and with long lasting flavours. Certainly very fruity on the palate, with green apple like mouth watering acidity giving excellent length.
