KAIMIRA ESTATE WINES

The Kaimira Estate label was introduced in 1999 to promote a food friendly range of wines in a dry to slightly off-dry aromatic style. Wherever possible we aim to make these wines from grapes grown at our Brightwater vineyards.

The flavour profiles we seek are as follows:

Kaimira Estate Wines

Nelson Sauvignon Blanc

A vibrant, herbaceous, gooseberry/tropical fruit wine that will be best enjoyed within 1-2 years of bottling.

Brightwater Riesling

Refined and delicate lime and citrus characteristics with a bouquet that highlights the floral attributes of the grapes with underlying mineral notes. Can be cellared for 5-7 years.

Brightwater Chardonnay

Made from Mendoza Chardonnay grapes to produce rich butterscotch, cornmeal and stonefruit flavours and a smooth finish that will continue to develop with bottle age over 5-7 years.

Brightwater Gewürztraminer

True varietal aromas of rose and Turkish delight, with some lychee notes in a just off-dry style with floral and Turkish delight flavours persisting throughout the palate. Can be cellared for 3-5 years.

Brightwater Pinot Gris

An opulent and complex style that accentuates the mouth filling flavours of the grape. Pear, ginger, and nutty characters with a long finish. Can be cellared for 5-7 years.

Vintners Selection Pinot Noir

Made and matured in French oak for at least twelve months before bottling and presenting a soft, aromatic dark cherry-plum flavour with strong colour and a long finish balanced with smokey oak overtones. Can be cellared for 5-7 years.

Vintage tasting notes for each wine are available at Kaimira Estate wine notes.

NEW STYLES

Kaimira Estate WinesOver the next few years we will be releasing a number of new wines with the objective of trialling the grape growing capabilities of the area and assessing consumer interest in other than the traditional New Zealand focus on 3 or 4 varieties and styles.

From the 2007 vintage we will release both Semillion and Syrah/Viognier wines followed in 2008 with a Pinot Blanc and in 2009 a Muscat, Viognier and a Rhône style red blend.
